We all knew of the prolific inventor Thomas Edison, but not until recently, where many started to recognize electrical and technological work of Nikola Tesla.

We were all thought in school that Thomas Edison is the father of the light bulb and that he was one of the greatest inventors in American history, but we must not forget barely mentioned and quickly forgotten Nikola Tesla.

In recent years, we started to hear the name Tesla all of the time thanks to Elon Musk’s electric car. But before this name was associated with successful electric car company, Tesla was the name of brilliant man who made electricity for the masses a reality. We were taught that this was actually only the work of Edison. While certainly Edison played an important role in the story, we must not forget how pivotal was Nikola Tesla’s contribution.

As more and more avid Tesla supporters advocate for him to get recognition for his contributions, we are bound to see an increase of younger generations who know who he is and what he did. There is no doubt anymore that his worked changed how humans live their daily lives, as did Edison’s. Without both of them, we might still be in the dark.
